In R. Yehuda Amital’s 1994 Sicha on Parashat Acharei Mot, “’After the Death of Aharon’s Two Sons…’” (“After the Death of Aharon’s Two Sons” | vbm haretzion), he notes that HaShem Tells Aharon to not repeat the errors of his sons. Despite RaShI’s explanation of the first verse in the Parashat HaShavua:
VaYikra 16:1-2 “1 And the LORD Spoke unto Moshe, after the death of the two sons of Aharon, when they drew near before the LORD, and died. 2 The LORD said to Moshe: Tell your brother Aharon that he is not to come at will into the Shrine behind the curtain, in front of the cover that is upon the Ark, lest he die; for I Appear in the cloud over the cover.”
