During the course of RaShI’s commentary on the opening verse of Parashat VaYeishev, he attributes a most natural sentiment to Yaakov, which is roundly contradicted by God:
Beraishit 37:1 “And Yaakov dwelt in the land of his father’s sojournings, in the land of Canaan.”
RaShI (at the end of his commentary on 37:2):
…And it is further explained concerning this verse, “Yaakov wished to live calmly/happily. The aggravation of Yosef ‘sprung’ upon him. The righteous wish to live calmly/happily! Says the Holy One, Blessed Be He: ‘Isn’t it sufficient for the righteous that their place has been prepared in the World to Come, that they expect to live calmly/happily in this world (as well)?’”
