In R. Amnon Bazak’s third essay for Parashat Ha’azinu, “Shirat Ha’azinu BeLashon Nochach U’BeLashon Nistar” (Nekudat Peticha: Iyunim Ketzarim BePeshuta Shel Parashat HaShavua, [revised and expanded], Yediot Acharonot, Rishon LeTziyon, 2018, pp. 453-4) he notes that following the introduction (v. 1-18), the poem is made up of two distinct sections, the first (v. 10-8) that deals with the past and the present, and the second (v. 19-35) that focuses upon the future.
